In the new Elite Division, our first ever Champion, Jim King truly becomes the "King of the Hill"!  There was a lot of talk among the "Big Guns", that the Elite Division should be scratch instead of handicapped.  Here was Jim taking on a bunch of bowlers with league averages 20 to 41 pins higher than his.  Jim whooped them all SCRATCH (1062), not even needing the 24 pins a game of handicap that he was getting for his 1158 (different handicap system).  The scores in the Elite Division, as you would expect, were fantastic, with nearly 1/3 cracking the 1000 mark. 

Jim also came down from the north for the Tournament.  He lives in Edmonds and bowls out of Kenmore Lanes.  Terry Rea out of Robinhood Lanes is where Jim goes for his equipment and help with his game.  (As a side note, Terry Rea had the Pro Shop at the old Mercer Island Bowl in the 1970's were I bowled as a Junior Bowler and he used to try to help me.  Small world! ). Jim used his Lane #1 Hybrid Dirty Bomb Drilled a couple years back by Mike Savoia (formally at TechCity Bowl now at Precision Proshop at Westside Lanes in Olympia. The turnout for the Elite was smaller than hoped, but we realize that a number of members that had the option to bowl in either Division, chose to shoot for the big Pro Pot this week.  With 27 total entries, 1st place still paid a very nice $888.  GREAT JOB Jim!
