We appreciate all those who made it to Bowlero on such a nice day. The 100 entries made it 12 straight Tournaments with at least 100 or more. The $2,138.00 for 1st place made it a great run of 9 of 11 at $2,000 or better. Not only did the Ladies dominate 4 of the Top 5 spots Saturday, they also claimed 6 of the Top 9 places. The conditions were very challenging with only one score above 1000 (1001) and only 12 breaking 900. There were many of our members that shot BIG the first two games (or vice-versa), only to find the pair they moved to was different enough to make adjustments puzzling. This seemed to be true of every pair all day, even after just two games on the fresh oil. We later reviewed the day to try and figure why the conditions were so unusual from pair to pair. Obviously the oil was moving around quickly and we suspect that it was partly due to the temperature, along with increasing number Urethane and Plastic Balls being used, which are notorious for moving the oil around.
Our Bowlero Champion is Pearl Sedeno, who takes her FIRST 9-Tap Tour Title, good for a $2,138.00 payday. She definately adjusted to the conditions, on her 2nd entry she shot a nice 1001 and held off two other re-entries that made it a close finish. Pearl joined the Tour in February and has bowled very well since then, steadily raising her average 10 pins over that period. She regularly bowls with her husband Raymond and just last week, her two sons Gabe and Isaac joined them on the Tour. Pearl shot league last year at Paradise Village, carrying a 170 average and is currently bowling summer league at Pacific Lanes. She used her HAMMER "Vicious Attack" from the Skyway Pro Shop for this win and plans to get a new ball with some of her winnings. Pearl asked that we thank her huband Ray for his constant support and to wish him a Happy Birthday (Friday). We all CONGRATULATE Pearl, we appreciate that she's always smiling, positive and having a good time.
The lone "Rooster" in the "Hen House" this week was Jeff Berys, who finished with a 275, 256 to come within 11 pins of 1st. His 990 was good for $955.00 and 2nd place, his best finish since joining the Tour in March. ONE PIN BACK in 3rd place was another steadily improving member, Twinnet Bowens with a 989, good for $478.00. Deborah Nucci & Jessica Wy who were tied for the lead after the 3rd round, held on for 4th, with 940.
