This weeks Champion Leon Bemis is another "Life" 9-Tap member dating back to the original days of the Tour.  At 74 (and proud of it), Leon is the most senior winner in the last year.  This is his second championship, having previously won at Pacific Lanes in 2004.  Leon said that he has NEVER shot 9-Pin No Tap event like he did today and had always struggled at Skyway in the past.  He said that he was, "Thankful for all the breaks", but we know you can't shoot 1113 with "Breaks" alone!  Going into the last squad, Leon would have been leading if he used his scratch score of 1053. 

  He plans on using the $1219 ($800 - $419) he won, on paying bills and going to Reno.  Leon bowls in EIGHT leagues per week, including 2 Travel Leagues.  Norm Giannusa at Precision Pro Shops (our sponsor) drilled Leon's Storm Double Agent that he used to win the Tournament.  Leon asked us to thank ALL of the 9-Tap members for being so friendly and supportive. Rich Eaton put quite a scare in Leon's score with a fine 1095.  It came right down to the last few frames, with Leon's score just holding up.  Barbara Retzlaff had her first Top 3 finish, with her best ever 9-Tap series.

 The Special Mom's Day High Game Pot was won by Sue Packman $110, with newcomer Tammy Shepherd (also with one on the way) taking 2nd for $50, and Lola Eberle getting 3rd for $20.  All Mom's got a flower just for being there.  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF OUR MOM'S!!!
