Another fantastic turnout this weekend, with many very interesting HIGHLIGHTS!
Highlight #1 - Lee Farquhar's first Tour Championship worth $1555. For the second week in a row, the champ struggled during their first entry, finds a groove, and re-enters to win the title. Nice going Lee!
Highlight #2 - Rich Eaton picks-up the 7 - 10 split. All that witnessed it roared their excitement. Unfortunately, Rich had turned his back and didn't get to see it. That shot qualifies for USBC Honors. Nice going Rich!!
Highlight #3 - Bob Breeze takes the $500 Strike Pot Bonus Consolation. The very 1st squad, Bob jumps on the opportunity, throwing the first five 9-Tap Strikes for the $500, and nobody beats or ties him. Nice going Bob!
Highlight #4 - Barb Retzlaff's 3rd straight finish in the money. After seven months of entering almost every week, without cashing once, Barb doesn't give-up. She got a new ball and a lesson from Fred and immediately cashes three straight times, including a 3rd place. Normally a 175 league average bowler (190 No-Tap), she has suddenly averaged 220 (9-Tap) in her last 3 entries. Nice going Barb!
Highlight #5 - Two members win sizable side bets with each other. Rumors have it, that 2 members (names protected from IRS) had head-to-head bets with 2 other members, taking home sizeable winnings that don't show up on the board. Nice going _ _ _ !
Paradise was a unique experience. They have a lane finish that most bowlers aren't familiar with. It is a high scoring house and our members that found the shot scored very well, with 26 scores above 900 and 4 of them over 1000. Ironically, with the small adjustment we made to the "House Shot", it was many of the members that shoot at Paradise that had difficulty finding the line.
Lee Farquhar found the line and got into a nice "zone". He told me, that after his first entry, he just felt like he, "Had a shot". After FOUR Top 5 finishes this year and raising his average 14 pins along the way, he finally cashes in with a BIG WIN! He used his Brunswick Rampage, from Pat John's Pro Shop at HiLine, to win it. Lee shoots league in two houses, HiLine Lanes and Kent Bowl and has been bowling since he was 8 years old. He wants to thank his daughter Bonnie for almost always being there to support him, as well as his close friends Neal and Shirley Nagasawa. He's worked at NCF Communications for 10 years and enjoys Music, Golf and doing things with Bonnie.
Larry Rushmeier who joined the Tour in January, take 2nd Place with a fine 1036, good for $581. Last weeks winner Ramces Guzman continues his "Hot Streak" with a solid 3rd, good for $356. |
