Great weekend! 106 entries, produced 22 Bracket Finalists. There were several very tough and dramatic matches, along with some big scores in the finals. Among the big scores, a 271, 262, 260 were actually losing scores. In the Brackets, we had NINE of our Senior members make it and 13 (more than 1/2) of the finalists had handicaps between 16 & 39 pins per game. A very nice cross-section of our members.
The Miller-Lite Champion is Art Principe. Art won 5 head-to-head matches with a steady performance. Four of his games were in a medium range from 223 to 242 (w/hdcp), but the other game was a perfect 300 in his second match. Art has been a 9-Tap Life member going back to the Tour's early days. He has also been a bowler since age 6 and comes from a bowling family, with his dad Andy, also being a past Tour Champion. Art's only league is Sunday at Pacific Lanes. He used his Columbia "Wild" (that he drilled on his own) to win this weekend. Art also showed himself to be part politician and part accountant, when he said he would use his winnings ($1200 + $225) for Mother's Day and bills. He had his Mom, Dad and his four girls at the Finals to lend support.
Fine efforts were also turned in by 2nd Bob Breeze, a 3rd place tie with Roy Conner and Molandro Divina. Molandro also takes over the Bowler of the Year points lead. And Congratulations to Tony Garcia for being the Top Qualifier and winning a new 9-Tap Tour Jacket.
