A very nice last two days for the Pre-Bowl Tournament, pushed the entries to 69, which is a great result for an experimental format. Our thanks to all that participated and our appreciation for your patience for any "rough edges" that may have existed with this format. Fred and I see a lot of potential for this format for next summer. With the lower entry fee and the potential for larger than normal turnouts, we may try it again.
Fred and I want to thank Lee and Debbie, and the whole Narrows Plaza Staff, for all their help with this Tournament and also for the Money-Added by the house.
Two ladies stepped-up to the plate, with the game on the line, and hit HOME RUNS!! First, Tuesday evening, Jenn Wade knocked Rich Eaton off the Top Spot with a super 1066 on her 3rd entry. Then, with one of the last entries on the last day of the Tournament, Mandy Haugen BLASTS a "Walk-Off" Grand Slam with an 1116. She wins her 1st 9-Tap Tour Championship, worth $1110, that she plans to take to Las Vegas. Mandy has been bowling for 85.7% of her life (I did the math). She used her Total Inferno from Cory Gardner to win it. Mandy asked that thanks go out to her Dad, and her fiancee, Louis Catiller for their support and for always cheering her on. When asked about her other hobbies, Mandy showed her diversity by answering, "fishing and slot machines."
Congratulations also go out to Bill Hurst for taking the $100 Early Leader Bonus, in addition to 6th place. Also congrats to a couple of returnees Darrell and Ryan Heath...driving down from Lynnwood TWICE, and both cashing on that second try.
