Narrows Plaza "Best 3 of 4" Tournament

We just completed our first '100 entry', One-Day Tournament! Congratulations and thanks to all that participated!! This is the 2nd time we've had the "Throw-Out-Your-Worst-Game" format and the 2nd record breaking turnout for a one-day event under this format. We get the message... you like the format. We're looking at a date in August to do it again.

The Champion, Ramces Guzman, won on a re-entry with a great 832. (after struggling to a 640 in the first squad) It was only his fourth try since joining the Tour. He wins $1727 ($1050 + $677 Pro Pot) for his fine effort. Ramces bowls league at Skyway Park, and won this Tournament with a Storm ball that he purchased used from the Precision Pro Shop at Kent Bowl. When asked what he would do with his winnings, he said he'd treat his family to a night out, do some projects around the house, and get a new ball. If he did that well with a used ball, he could be dangerous with a new one! He wants to thank his family and particularly his wife, who Ramces said, "Always encourages me that I can do better than I think." He also thanks his cousin, Moses Ascencio, for getting him back into bowling. Ramces said that he started finding the shot at the end of his first entry, so he tried a re-entry for the first time... the rest is history.

Mick Hodge finished 2nd, missing the Top Spot by only ONE PIN, but still takes home a nice $796 payday. It was Mick's third Top 3 finish in two months. Again, we had a nice distribution of averages, including 4 members that cashed with between -3 & -13 pins of handicap. Three ladies cashed as well, although we do need to see more ladies represented on the Tour!! Speaking of the ladies, Dawn Eaton takes over the Bowler of the Year lead, with the points from her 6th place finish.
