Watch for Wednesday's email for information on proposed rule and handicap changes. Saturday seemed to be pretty upbeat all day, with a number of members we haven't seen for awhile helping to raise that energy level and a couple of them even making the cash list. After two straight Tournaments with huge scores, we got back to more normal numbers, with 947 being the low to cash. 5 bowlers cracked the 1000 mark, with Mandy Haugen leading the way with a spectacular 1096. She becomes only the 3rd Tour Member to win multiple Titles this year, taking her second ever Tour Championship. Mandy had a couple of tough frames early in her 1st game. She left a 7-10 split in the 3rd frame and on her next shot she caught a break on a not so good shot. After that, she got really hot, finishing with a 300 in her 4th game. That was a nice job of not getting 'down', after a few tough early shots.
Mandy used her Brunswick Fury Pearl to win this one, drilled by Corey Gardner. She bowls in leagues at Secoma and Pacific Lanes. The win was worth $1,533.00, Congratulations Mandy! Taking 2nd place was newcomer Jason Green, who felt that he found a shot after struggling in much of his 1st entry. In his re-entry, from his second game on, he was in a 'zone' similar to Mandy, taking 2nd place by two pins, with a fine 1045. Mick Hodge took 3rd place with a 1043, giving him two 2nd's and now two 3rd's this year. We FINALLY paid out the $500 Bonus on the Strike Pot. Again, no one had 5 or more 9-Taps to start any game, but with the Bonus level lowered for this Tournament two members did tie with FOUR. Ray Israel and Rich Eaton split the $500. Rich actually threw 9-Taps in 7 out of his first 8 frames , which very easily could have won him the BIG Pot. The Strike Pot still stands at $5,244.00 and we will have the $500 Bonus for a minimum of 5 , in effect for next weekend.
