Phil Matison says that Saturday at Bowlero Lanes was just one of those days when he felt, "Totally relaxed and in a zone". Phil rode his "zone" to a 981 and a solid win, worth $869. He has been bowling on and off for 40 years, and with 9-Tap Tour for a little over one year. It is Phil's first tour championship and when asked about his best prior finish he says, "I won a cash drawing". Phil currently has a book average of 176 and bowls in the Tower Lanes Slow Risers Scratch league and with Towers Senior Swingers. His ball was a "Monster Bruiser Reactive" that he purchased from Bob Hanson. Initially he said that his winnings would go to more entry fees. But, later said that he planned to go to HiLine this weekend and his wife could go to the Southcenter Mall. The retired Law Enforcement officer's hobbies include golf, fishing and poker, along with a dance and jazz band on the side called the Matison Avenue Band . His comment about the 9-Tap Tour is that he is impressed with what a "fun and friendly group" the Tour is. Our Congratulations go to Phil and all the other winners at the Bowlero event. |
