With couple of other tournaments running across town yesterday, it was a small turnout for the first squad.  The second squad yielded no bowlers which led to the scrubbing of the final squad.  Jon Verde won $50.00 from the 9-Tap Jackpot for his 3 Taps!  Another highight was Alex Watanabe and Dwayne Corpuz both breaking the 300 pot in game two.  They split$140.00!   

Visiting from Hawaii was Dwayne Corpuz from the 9-Tap Tour Hawaii region.  In town to celebrate his birthday, the 9-Tap Tour LV tournament was the first thing he had to do on his birthday wish list.  It was also lucky it was a Best 3 of 4 weekend as Dwayne's first game was a 178 scratch.  With his warmup game behind him, he threw three awesome scratch games of 300-251-220 for a 771 series, with handicap he had a nice 849.  His closest competitor was Alex Watanabe who also had games of 266-300-265 which totaled up to an 816 with his handicap.  So for a very COOL birthday present, Dwayne got a check in the amount of $402.00 and his fourth 9-Tap Tour championship.  He now has titles in two of the three regions.  Alex came in 2nd place and received $174.00! Congratulations to both of our finalists this week! 

Dwayne Corpuz has been bowling for 10 years.  He was using his gold Storm IQ drilled up by Virgil Delacruz at the Extreme 300pro shop in Wahiawa, Hawaii.  He told me he wanted to thank Auntie Fran and Uncle Dave from Hawaii for getting his average and handicap information to Vegas so he could bowl.  He told me he was very comfortable and relaxed once he got lined up after game one.  He planned on taking his wife, Debra, out on the town to do a little gambling with his winnings!  Congratulations Dwayne of your first LV title and your fourth overall.
