 Texas Station played host to the Tour's special Mother's Day event this year. With $200 in added money to sweeten the High Hdcp $5.00 pot, Moms had a whole lot of extra reasons to bowl yesterday. Before the main event got started, our weekly Crazy 8s contest got off to a great start. With enough participation this week to award two fully paid entries in the tournament, Tony Madolora and Ron McGinnis "Won their Way In" after the dust settled. Crazy 8s is a great way for those whose budget might be a bit tight to bowl on the Tour! Give it a try next week.....all it takes is 8 or better!
Its always a pleasure to bowl at Texas Station with our host Jerry Francomano and his wonderful staff. We welcomed new Members Fred Arrington, his son Jason, andtheir friend and recruiter Gary Newman as well as Don Gustason Jr. This time around we had 47 entries enough to pay out 9 spots on the "Cash List". A total of $3,306.00 was awarded! The scores ranged from the cut line of 905 to the winning score of 982. This range gives all of our Members a great opportunity to win a title. The first squad of the day started off with 18 Members looking to set the score to beat for the day! Along the way Darla Cox and Ken James split $100.00from the 9-Tap Jackpot for their 4 Taps in a row. And MomsMichelle Dungan, Sharon Balboa, and Debbie Engelmeyershared $235.00 in the special Moms High Handicap Game pot.
Michael Cox posted his score of 953 at 11am. Ann McGee, on a re-entry attempt in the second squad, bested Michael by 7 pins with a 960 series. With the last squad kicking off at 3pm, Michelle Dungan bowled very well, posting a very nice 982 score which would hold up to be the best of the day. For his efforts, Michael took home $270.00 for 3rd place and Ann pocketed a cool $419.00 for 2nd place. Michelle's first place finish was rewarded with an awesome $923.00 as well as an additional $180.00 from the Mom's Day High Hdcp game pot. With her winnings from the $1 handicap games, her payday was an AWESOME $1,149.00! Congratulations to our Top 3 Members this week!
Michelle took up bowling only 5 years ago. Her previous best finish on the Tour was 3rd place. She and her husband, Member Trent
 Dungan, routinely visit Las Vegas from California to bowl and gamble. A school principal, Michelle used her Storm Street Fight drilled up at JB Bowling Supply in Henderson to secure her first Title. She commented that since her first game of the day was 127, she was very happy to win given such a slow start. She also thanked her husband, Trent for his help by keeping her in the game with his coaching. She told us she loves bowling, gambling, and traveling to any place that has a casino! Her winnings will go to paying down some bills, a nice Las Vegas dinner and future trips to Vegas! Way to go Michelle, enjoy the win! |
