Wildfire Lanes
August 6th, 2016

Total Paid Out: $4,705.00

Wrap Up

Wildfire was a great host yesterday for our 26th event of the year in Las Vegas!  The Noon Squad enjoyed some very good pizza for lunch.  And compliments go out to the Chef at the restaurant as many people said the pizza was delicious.  The day yielded a total of 76 entries which is around our "weekly entry average" and since Wildfire has 18 lanes we were able to'fill the house' not once but twice for the last two squads.  It was nice hitting that number again because it increases the number of bowlers who make the 'Cash List'.  This time 15 members shared in the total payout of $4,705.00 with a cut line of 910 and two new Members cashing in their first event.

Every center seems to have its own 'personality' and Wildfire was no exception as many bowlers were getting "no-tapped" and making a run for the Jackpot.  Al Garcia posted 4 Taps in the 12 Noon squad, then Sammy Goss beat that mark with 5-Taps at 2:30pm only to be bested by Terry Sherman a game later with a "Golden Shot" of his own and then Christine Fowler comes along with her "Golden Shot" opportunity in the final squad of the day.  Ellena Dominguez had 5-Taps as well at one point during the day.  Click on the "Golden Shot' videos below to watch the excitement unfold. I won't spoil the fun...........results are at the end of the newsletter this time.

The early leader of the day was Gold Coast Champion Richard Wash who posted a 984 series.  With more than 30 entries at 2:30pm it was unlikely Richard's score would survive as 4 Members "cracked" the 1000 mark. Terry Sherman had a 1074John Paul Allarde Jr had a 1063, 2nd Quarter Champ Greg Mamac posted a 1051 and Jim Eckerson shot 1008.  Now that the leader board was set for the final squad could anybody knock Terry Sherman out of first?  Three more Members found the path to break 1000 and they were Orleans champ Alex WatanabeRic Bisnar and BOY leader Ellena Dominguez.  Fortunately for the Top 3 leaders, the scores from Alex, Ric and Ellena were not high enough to knock them out.  Terry Sherman gets his first Tour title and 'Blue Champion Shirt' along with an AWESOME check in the amount of $1,190.00!  John Paul held onto 2nd place and a VERY NICE $551.00 for his bank account while Greg Mamac took 3rd place and added $288.00 to his career earnings.  Congratulations on a job well done to our Top 3!  Great bowling!

Terry Sherman grew up in Las Vegas but never had the occasion to bowl at Wildfire back in the day and he said he was looking forward to bowling at the Tour's newest location.  He was a member of his Bonanza high school bowling team finishing in 3rd place twice at the State Championship at Arizona Charlie's in the 80's.  Using a 16 lb Brunswick 'Nexus' drilled over at Sunset Station, Terry put together 4 nice games of 215-264-276-219.  Cheered on by his friends, Richie and Christa Vandermark, (Richie also joined the Tour yesterday) Terry plans to reinvest his winnings back into the Tour.  Congratulations again Terry!

SPOILER ALERT...........Terry and Christine both had 'Golden Shots' to crack the Jackpot for over $2,200.  They would settle for splitting the $500 consolation prize for their 6-Taps. And they will both recieve a membership to Lasvegasadvisor.com

and a rewards book valued at over$3,500.00!

Oh by the way.........John Paul Allarde Jr and Ric Bisnar bowled No Tap 300s yesterday.  Way to go guys!

Special thanks to Justin Mathews, Wildfire Manager, his head mechanic Nate and the rest of the Wildfire staff for working with the Tour to ensure a great event!  We look forward to coming back in November!

Next week the Pro Pot is back over a grand at $1,055.00 and the Jackpot returns at a healthy $2,505.00.   See you at Sam's Town!
