Wrap Up

This week 11 Members took their shots for a chance to “Win their Way in” in the 12 Noon Squad in the Crazy 8s event, and of those 11, 4 made it to the finals. Vernon NakamotoLeon Pitcher, Richard Wash and Norris Montague all completed the 5 lane gauntlet knocking down 8 or better. It took only 4 rounds this time to determine a winner. In the end Richard Wash earned his way in, with Leon Pitcher being the runner up after winning a tie breaker with Norris Montague

It was a low scoring affair at The Orleans this weekend. With a low cut score of 899, we had a total of 9 members making the 'Cash list. A total of$2,893.00 was paid out, including $100.00 to Kenneth Fowler who for the 2nd week in a row, tapped the 9-Tap Jackpot stringing 4 consecutive NTs from the first frame. We had 4 new members join the 9-Tap family. We would like to welcome Barbara BarnetteRuss HutchinsonSam Balidio and Rogelio Dixon. Best of luck to all of you in the events to come.

One member broke the “1000” mark this week, distancing themselves by over 50 pins to 2nd place to earn their first title. With a 4 game total of 1011Shane Ahnee is the Tour's newest Champion earning his first Blue Shirt, and an invitation to next week's YEC and a check for a nice $784.00. With a little consistency, Shane was able to overcome the conditions when most couldn’t figure them out.  Alfredo Basiga started off hot with a 276 first game tying for high scratch game of the day. He finished with a 954 series good for 2nd place and a payday of $360.00. Guy Hirsimaki, also kept very consistent with each successive game better than the last.  He posted a series total of 946 for 3rd place and $265.00. Rounding out the 'Cash List' were Jim EckersonMark KightDale SavageRobert RawlingStephen Barnes Jr. and Jermal Williams. Congrats to all the cashers and of course the Top 3.

Shane Ahnee of Las Vegas has been bowling for 30 years and joined the 9-Tap tour back in February. Shane’s previous best finish was 3rd at Red Rock where he bowls in the Red Rock Rowdies league. Shane took his title with his Storm Snap Lock drilled at the South Point Pro Shop. With his winnings, he plans to buy gifts for his family. Cheering him on, was good buddy and fellow Member Kenny Reynolds. Shane has put in over 20 years in the military and is now enjoying his retirement. He would like to thank God and his wife for allowing him to bowl, knowing that they have a little one on the way.  He would like to thank the 9-Tap Tour staff for the handwork and support. Congratulations Shane, thank you for your service, and good luck with the family addition and of course we expect the Tour's membership to increase by one in about 18 years!
