Wrap Up

It is difficult for us to comprehend how far the 9 Tap Tour has gone.  Today we areCelebrating our  9th Anniversary, here at home, in Hawaii.  We have so much to be thankful for as Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS) continues to support the 9 Tap Tour and Our Loyal Members continue to show up at our tournaments.  This past tournament was filled with fun, exciting bowling and prizes to give away donated by HBS.  The tournament at Ft. Shafter did not disappoint us as scoring was great!  We had 69 entries, 15 cashers; a low of 941 to cash; and a 2nd time Champion.

Scoring got started with our women members taking hold of the 1st squad lead.  Sue Stephens came to Ft. Shafter with one thought in mind, "WIN".  Her score of 971 was best on the leader board for the 1st squad.  Then the Tour's 2017 Bowler of the Year, Michael Yutaka, shows up and is geared up to finally win his first title.  Mike was ready as he posted the day's best scratch series score, a 1061+ 8 = 1069 and the 2nd squad lead.

William bowled in the first squad and was disappointed with his bowling, re-entered the second squad but again tough conditions, tough bowling, tough scoring.   After a friendly talk about his ball release, William made a slight change to his equipment and was quite pleased.  William started with a nice 232 (+ handicap) for a 257 score.  He then followed that up by bowling a 256+ (for a 281) second game, moved lanes and continued his rampage with a scratch 276 + (301 game).  Needing to post a 206 to beat Mike Yutaka, William finishes in fine fashion with a score of 217 + (242 game) and denies Mike of his first Title.  Congratulations William!  William used a Roto Grip Menace drilled by Roy Yamanuha at Game On Pro Shop, Ft. Shafter Lanes.

Our 9 Tap Jackpot has increased to $5,875.00 and the Progressive Pot to$1,391.00.  The pots are large and waiting for one of our members to take home the “Bigger Bucks”.  Our next stop will be at Schofield Bowling Center on June 1, 2019 with no changes in squad times, 12:00 pm; 2:30 pm; and 5:00 pm.
